It was quite eventful down on the docks for a Wednesday afternoon in the middle of July. We had reports come in early this afternoon that the white marlin bite was going off offshore… and they were correct! There were also a few tunas caught, as well as an over bluefin caught by the crew of the ‘Reel Chaos’!
Returning from the Wilmington Canyon today was the ‘Double J’ catching 4 yellowfin tuna and the ‘White Lightning’ catching 3 yellowfin tuna.
The remainder of the fleet ventured to the Baltimore Canyon where the marlin were thick! Captain Eddie Wheeler and crew on the ‘Cabana’ returned with 10 white marlin releases, the ‘Lights Out’ returned with 15 white marlin releases, the ‘Fish On’ catching 3 yellowfin tuna, 1 mahi mahi, 6 white marlin releases, and 1 blue marlin release, the ‘C-Boys’ releasing 1 blue marlin, and lastly the ‘Reel Chaos’ releasing 8 white marlin, 1 sailfish, and one over bluefin tuna which they estimate was over 400 lbs!
