Happy Holiday weekend! With July 4th right around the corner we had a decent amount of boats fish today in search of tuna for the grill! The OC Marlin Club is also hosting the Canyon Kickoff Tournament this weekend,as we saw a few marlin flags flying down the dock this afternoon as well! It was pretty spread out today with captains reporting fishing in the Poormans, the Wilmington, the Washington, and the Norfolk Canyons.
Returning from the Poormans Canyon today was the ‘Osprey’ catching 2 yellowfin, the ‘Primary Search’ catching 3 yellowfin and 15 bluefish, and the ‘New Release’ catching 1 yellowfin and 7 blue line tile fish.
Heading out to the Wilmington Canyon today was the ‘Double J’ catching 4 yellowfin, the ‘Boss Hogg’ catching 1 yellowfin and releasing 1 blue marlin, the ‘Lucky Duck’ releasing 2 white marlin, the ‘Big Stick’ catching 3 yellowfin and 1 mahi mahi, and lastly the ‘Blood Money’ releasing a whopping 5 white marlin.
Venturing out to the Washington Canyon today was the ‘Dawg Haus’ catching 1 yellowfin, the ‘Zipper’ catching 1 yellowfin, the ‘Fish On’ releasing 2 white marlin, the ‘Roll Groove’ releasing 2 white marlin, and lastly the ‘Pumpin Hard’ catching 6 yellowfin.
Returning from the Norfolk Canyon was the ‘Grande Pez’ releasing 2 white marlin.
