It started off being a rather nice day here at Sunset Marina, but with a slight change in weather the rough seas made our boats return back to the dock a little sooner then normal. All boats ventured to the Washington in search of a few more white marlin and they weren’t disappointed. The ‘No Quarter’ returned with 3 white marlin, the ‘Buckshot’ returned with 2 white marlin, and finally the ‘Gret’s 3 J’s’ returned with 4 white marlin. It looks as if the weather is going to continue to be nasty throughout tomorrow but be sure to check back in with us this weekend for all the action!

Summer madness in October continues as the fishing offshore remains hotter than ever.  We had several boats venture out with the hope of finding themselves in the midst of this red hot marlin action.  The first back to the dock was the crew of the ‘Osprey’ returning from the Poor Mans with 6 white releases and 16 dolphin in the box.   The Washington Canyon was the fishing grounds for the rest of the fleet today.  The crew of the ‘Three J’s’ came back from an overnight trip and had a whopping 10 white releases!  The ‘No Quarter’ was in next and had 6 white releases as did the ‘Poore Sport’ returning right behind them.  The ‘Lucky Duck’ had a wahoo, some dolphin, and five white releases.  The ‘Fish On’ had 1 white release and a wahoo.  The ‘Pumpin Hard’ had 2 white releases and finally the crew of the ‘Buckshot’ had 2 wahoo in the ice chest and released 5 whites.  More boats plan to fish the the next few days but are keeping a close watch on the ever changing forecast so be sure to check in and see what they decide tomorrow!

Also fishing in the Rockpile today was the ‘Marli’ who brought back an impressive 60 dolphin back to the dock. After a quiet and tense few days here around the marina the forecast finally allowed for some of the fleet to head back out and see what they could find.  The Poor Man’s Canyon was the popular fishing grounds today and the first back to the dock was the crew of the Reel Toy with a wheelbarrow’s worth of dolphin.  The next boat in was the crew of the ‘Bar South’ returning with 5 white releases and a few dolphin.  Right behind them was the ‘Intents’ with 4 white marlin releases and then the crew of ‘Reel chaos’ who had 4 white releases and 12 dolphin.  We continue to monitor the hurricane Florence carefully, however today’s projections seem to be bringing good news for the weekend.  Make sure you stay tuned!!
