Big Eye & Lots of Yellowfin 6/22/25

Weekend wrap-up! Sunday was quieter than Saturday, but we still saw a lot of great catches brought back to the docks! The boats that went out yesterday reported that it was a beautiful day on the water, with pretty much perfect conditions. We have two boats come back with some big eyes. “Reel Chaos” had two big eyes and 11 yellowfin, and “Marli” had one big eye and 9 yellowfin; they both were fishing out of the Baltimore. “Boss Hogg” and “Real One” were both fishing out of the Washington. “Boss Hogg” had 11 yellowfin and 1 mahi, and “Real One” had 6 yellowfin. “Christine Marie” had their first trip of the season and ended up with 12 yellowfin while fishing just above the Norfolk. “Pumpin Hard” and “White Lightning” were both fishing in the Poormans, and both got into the yellowfin. “Pumpin Hard” ended up with 7, and “White Lightning” had 11. It was another successful weekend at Sunset Marina. We have some boats fishing early this week, and then we are gearing up for another full weekend of fishing!

First Saturday of Summer 6/21/25

The first official Saturday of Summer was a success! Everyone was getting in on the action; we had 63 boats go out yesterday between Sunset Marina and Fisherman’s Marina. We saw a ton of yellowfin tuna hit the docks yesterday, the fish cleaners were backed up and busy to say the least! “White Lightning” also came back with a white marlin release! The last day of the Fish N Paddle at Atlantic Tackle takes place today, the scales are open from 12 to 4 pm. The last day of the Marlin Clubs Small Boat Tournament is today at Fisherman’s Marina, and their scales are open from 3 to 7 pm. It’s been a great weekend so far, and we’re excited to see what the fleet brings back to the docks today!

Yellowfin Action and A 161-pound Big Eye

We had a busy day on the docks yesterday! “East Bound” came back this morning from an overnight trip with a 161-pound big eye, the first big eye of the weekend! “C-Boys”, “Marli”, “Grande Pez”, and “Real One” all came back with 7 yellowfin each fishing out of the Washington Canyon. “Reel Chaos” came back with 10 yellowfin, and “Boss Hogg” had 11 yellowfin! “Blue Runner” had 2 yellowfin. We are gearing up for a busy day on the docks and at the Marlin Clubs Small Boat Tournament at Fisherman’s and the Fish N Paddle at Atlantic Tackle!

Tuna Bite is Back 6/19/25

The tuna bite is back, and our fleet has been getting after it! It’s finally starting to feel like summer in Ocean City. We are coming off an exciting weekend of Tuna and Tiaras ladies’ tournament at the Ocean City Fishing Center, where Instigator, Sea Hag, and Reel Chaos all finished on the leaderboard! Congrats teams! This week, most of our fleet has been fishing around the Washington Canyon, and almost everyone has returned with their daily limit. Our charter fleet has started fishing again. Marli, Boss Hogg, Reel Chaos, and White Lightning have all come back to the docks with a cooler full of tuna and lots of happy faces. We are looking forward to a weekend full of fishing with the with Ocean City Marlin Clubs’ first tournament of the season, the Small Boat Fishing Tournament at Fisherman’s Marina, and the 7th Annual Fish N Paddle Saltwater Slam at Atlantic Tackle. We hope to see you there!

Fishing the First Week of June

The season has started to pick up around here! We’ve seen a few tunas from “Bad Habit”, “Primary Search”, and “Marli”. “Bad Habit” hit the jackpot with 5 yellowfin tuna early last week. “Marli” and “Primary Search” have both been on the tilefish fishing in the Baltimore. “Primary Search” had an insane day catching 65 bluefin and brought one back due to the current Bluefin regulations. It’s exciting to hear of some offshore action and seeing fish brought back to the docks as we head into the season.  Tunas and Tiaras takes place at the Ocean City Fishing Center this coming weekend, July 13th-14th.

Ocean City Boats Killin’ It!

Ocean City boats killin’ it from coast to coast. “Billfisher” recently finished the first leg of the Los Suenos Signature Triple Crown in first place with 99 sailfish and 2 blue marlin releases over three days. “Fish On” claimed first place in this year’s 88th Annual Silver Sailfish Derby with 14 sailfish releases. Congrats to both teams on their performances!
