We hope everyone had a great 4th of July Weekend! We had a busy weekend on the docks, at Sunset Grille, and throughout Ocean City. The biggest fishing day of the weekend was Thursday, July 3rd. The yellowfin bite was on fire, fishing out of the Washington Canyon, “Christine Marie” came back 9 yellowfin, “Marli” had 6 yellowfin, “Bar South” had 9 yellowfin and 3 mahi. Fishing out of the Baltimore Canyon “Primary Search” had 13 yellowfin and a white marlin release, “Pumpin Hard” had the first blue marlin release fishing out of Sunset Marina as well as 3 yellowfin and 2 mahi, “Real One” had 6 yellowfin and a mahi and “Boss Hogg” had 12 yellowfin and a mahi. Most people enjoyed their 4th of July on land and started fishing again on the 5th. “Primary Search” went out and found a Big Eye weighing in at 148lbs. This was Faith, their angler and one of our dockhands, first time offshore, and she came back with a big and a big smile! Congrats Faith! Sunday, July 6th, ended up being a day for marlin releases. “Marli” had a white release and 5 yellowfin, “Pole Position” had 5 yellowfin and a white release, “Kilo Charlie” had a white release and 3 yellowfin, and “Shotski” went over 100 miles offshore and came back with a blue release and two white marlin releases! Another great weekend here at Sunset Marina is in the books, and we are looking forward to next weekend’s Ocean City Tuna Tournament at the Ocean City Fishing Center. We hope to see you there!
