Yesterday was silent at the docks, with some unforeseen weather keeping everyone at the docks. Today was not the case, with a few boats going out and getting covered up with some nice Yellowfin Tuna!

The ‘Espadon’ fished the Hot Dog, and caught 7 Yellowfin. In the Masseys Canyons was the Marli, who’s crew caught 7 Yellowfin. The ‘Boss Hogg’ fished near the ‘Marli’ and caught a whopping 13 Yellowfin Tuna- awesome day! If this tuna bite is any indication, the upcoming Big Fish Classic should be full of action at the scales!

Check out the catch from the ‘Boss Hogg’ below:

Not much to report out of Sunset Marina today, with a questionable forecast keeping most boats at the docks. The highlight of the day was on the ‘Marli’, who ventured out to the Masseys Canyons to catch 6 Yellowfin Tuna- all fairly large in size. Today also wrapped up the Kids Classic- which brought tons of happy kids to the docks to weigh everything from Sand-sharks to flounder!

The Big Fish Classic kicks off next weekend out of Talbot St Pier, and is sure to be filled with excited anglers preparing for the upcoming White Marlin Open and Mid Atlantic tournaments. The White Marlin Open is fast approaching, and several of our boaters are heading out in search of the White Marlin! It was extremely hot in Ocean City today, with temperatures as high as 102 degrees.

Fishing was hot today as well, with boats going out in search of Tuna, White Marlin, and even some Tilefish! Fishing the Masseys Canyons was the ‘Osprey’, who caught and returned with 4 Yellowfin. Most of our other boats today fished the Baltimore; The ‘Marli’ released a white, and the ‘Boss Hogg’ released 2 Whites and had one yellowfin. The ‘Reel Chaos’ also fished the Baltimore, but wrecked the Tilefish- catching 43 Blue Line Tilefish, 3 Golden Tilefish, and releasing a White Marlin. The ‘C-Boys’ returned 5 Yellowfin to the docks and also released a White Marlin!

The Kid’s Classic kicks off tomorrow, with weigh-ins beginning at 3:00pm at Sunset Marina’s alternate weigh station- just in time for happy hour at Sunset Grille! So grab a drink and head over to the scales to see what the young-ins bring in!

The Tuna Tournament was exciting for all- both angler and spectator. We may not have seen any record breaking fish, but in slow fishing, we were happy with the results. Check out the leaderboard below:

Today was quite slow for tuna bite, however, the ‘Billfisher’ is back in action and released 3 White Marlin on their trip today. This weekend we look toward the ‘Kids Classic’ tournament- which is fun for the whole family. Weigh-Ins will be held right here at Sunset Marina.

Day 3 of the Ocean City Tuna Tournament had most-everyone fishing out of Sunset today, with 64 boats fishing out of our port (For the Tournament and recreational, of course).

We saw a handful of Tuna, both bluefin and yellowfin at the docks from the Hot Dog and a few places elsewhere. A huge attraction at the fish cleaning station today was the weighing of a 200 lb Swordfish, who was brought in by the Git-R-Done crew from the Chicken Bone. With the OCTT behind us, we can now look towards the Kids Classic tournament, which will be held right here at our alternate weigh station.
