It felt like we said goodbye to fall and hello to summer today with the high temperatures and activity around the marina!  The ‘Osprey’ was our first boat back to the dock returning from their overnight trip in the Washington.  They had their ice box full with 40 dolphin, 6 golden tile fish, 2 triggerfish, and one swordfish.  Also fishing in the Washington was the ‘Marli’ who brought home 25 dolphin and 10 golden tiles.  Fishing in the Poorman’s was the ‘Espadon’ who released a white marlin.  The crew of the ‘Boss Hogg’  also chose to fish in the Poorman’s and didn’t disappoint, returning with 36 dolphin and a triggerfish.  Temperatures are supposed to remain in the high 70’s and the seas calm throughout the weekend so hopefully this mini-summer activity will continue!!

Happy October everyone! The Fall weather is here, and we are beginning to see the transient traffic that we see every fall with boats making the trip down south for the winter season. After some recent rough days offshore, today looked promising and resulted in two boats fishing out of Sunsets port. The ‘G-Force’ fished the Baltimore and caught 49 Dolphin, and the ‘Marli’ fished the Poor Mans returning with an incredible 60 Dolphin! Capt. Mark Hoos plans to fish tomorrow and stated that he hopes to find some tuna for his charter. Be sure to check in with us tomorrow to see if Mark was able to find the fish!

The Tunas are here- just before Maria arrives off of our coast. The ‘Boss Hogg’ caught 6 Albacore Tunas and 3 Yellowfin. Fishing alongside the ‘Boss Hogg’ was the ‘Marli’, who returned with 5 Albacores and 6 Yellowfin. Both vessels fished the Baltimore Canyons. Rough seas are expected in the next couple of days in the wake of Hurricane Maria- but we are eager to see if the weekend will bring some favorable weather!

An excellent day of fishing our of Sunset today from only two boats! The ‘No Quarter’ fished the Poor Mans, returning with 3 Dolphin, 4 Yellowfin, and 1 Wahoo. They also released 5 White Marlin. The ‘No Quarter’ crew also fished yesterday, returning after our facilities closed. Yesterday they released a whopping 8 White Marlin and 1 Blue Marlin, returning with 3 Yellowfin and 3 Dolphin.

The ‘Marli’ fished south of the Poor Mans, returning with 3 Wahoo and 3 Dolphin. They caught 2 White Marlin as well, releasing one, however the other unfortunately did not survive the fight and was brought back to the docks. That fish weighed in at an amazing 101lbs, a fishg worth some serious cash had it been caught just a few weeks prior.

A lot of boats are planning to fish tomorrow, certainly in search of a heavy White Marlin bite!
